10 July 2016
Camden Green Party has decided we need to get out more, so we'll be holding our July meeting in the middle of the current exhibition by Japanese artist Kota Takeuchi at Arts Catalyst, the Kings Cross-based organisation that forges links between art and science.
Takeuchi (video still from Pursuing a Lost Mallard pictured) has explored labour problems at the Fukushima Dai'ichi Nuclear Power Plant accident in 2011 and he acts as the agent for Finger Pointing Worker (a man who pointed at the public live camera at the power plant after the disaster). During his time in the UK, Takeuchi is researching monuments, site markers and memory around the UK and Belgium, and will undertake field research at the Belgian underground research laboratory for the geologic storage of radioactive waste.
Arts Catalyst Director, Nicola Triscott, will introduce the exhibition and Arts Catalyst's ongoing Nuclear Culture Programme. We'll then share our monthly Camden Green Party updates.
Hope to see you there: Tuesday 19 July, 7-9pm, Arts Catalyst Centre for Art, Science & Technology, 74-76 Cromer Street, London WC1H 8DR. Click for a map.
